Members, if you are part of an exhibition or running a workshop please send details to [email protected] and your event will be put on this page.
Paul and Ally Zawadzki are taking part in this exhibition.
Truth is stranger than fiction – it’s hard to believe it’s been five years since someone had the bright idea “I know: let’s find a disused shop in the middle of Lowestoft, spend who knows how much of our own time and money doing it up and then open a temporary pop-up art gallery and exhibition!
So for 2024, we’re taking over the old “Bet Fred” building (91 High St, Lowestoft NR32 1XW) in the Triangle section of Lowestoft’s historic High Street and transforming it into an exciting contemporary art gallery. This year, our chosen theme is Connections, to tie in with the Heritage Open Days programme Routes, Networks & Connections.
We’ll be welcoming acclaimed author, illustrator and storyteller, @mrjamesmayhew, who has kindly agreed to open the exhibition at the Connections Preview at 7pm, Friday 6 September.
James is the creative genius behind such children’s classics as the Katie’s Picture Show and Ella Bella Ballerina book series but also an old friend of Lowestoft.
20+ members will be taking part this year, with work stretching across a wide range of mediums – painting, drawing, printing, pottery and ceramics to name just a few – and all from some of the most creative artists in East Suffolk. So there’s bound to be something to stimulate even the most jaded artistic palate!
But don’t panic if you really can’t make the preview: Connections opens on Friday 6 September and runs till Sunday 15th September, so there’s plenty of time to see what’s on show. We’re open every day 10am - 5pm, entry is free and there’s wheelchair access throughout. Look out for the Easterly Artists banners by the entrance.
We look forward to seeing you there!
