Wendy Ferrey, NNAC exhibition, Wells Maltings 2022
Too Many Sweets by Wendy Ferrey was judged best artwork in show by Simon Daykin, Director of Wells Maltings. He said -
A superb piece, that draws from its simplicity and organisation a sense of randomness and almost disorder, conveying perfectly the conflicts between what we want and what we should have. But above all, this is an explosion of fun and playfulness, teasing us to dissolve in its vividness and colour and dismiss the monochrome everyday. Joyful and unbound.

The president's award, Virtual exhibition 2021
Doreen Wells wins the President's award for her piece, Earth Cry 2
Our President, Clive says: It is always difficult to select from images on line but amongst so many good works this was the one that really took my eye. It was as if I was looking into a wonderful slice of rock which was revealing our planet’s history. There was such beauty here and I wanted to dive deeper into the depths of this work. (I also liked Earth Cry 1 by the same artist.)

Rosanne Ridler wins the President's award for her piece, Chrysalis.
Our President, Clive, says: I loved seeing all the work displayed in our ‘Munnings Exhibition’. We have such amazing talented artists. This work, however, was the one that I kept coming back to time and again. I loved the colour, form and texture. It truly blew me away. It is not a large work and yet it has such presence.

Jane Knights wins the President's award for her piece "Creation"
Clive, our President, says this -
I was looking for something original, using unusual materials and technique and more than anything said something to me. Two actions were going on here. There was the act of creation and yet destruction at the same time by the use of bleach as a medium. I was reminded strongly of the fragility of life by this work. I could tell you more of how this work affected me on a personal level given what we are living through right now but that is perhaps for another occasion.
