Hazel Manley
I started painting and drawing as a child, but like many others, I was put off creating art by school art lessons. I returned to art as an adult via watercolours in the mid 1980s. Since then, with the help of some wonderful teachers, I've rediscovered the joy of painting and discovered a new medium: oil pastels.
Although, I still use watercolours in situations where a quick sketch using a portable kit is needed, today, I mostly work in oil pastels enjoying both the depth of colour and the challenges they bring. I love to use them to capture fleeting moments and explore the details of nature.
Find more of my work and my story on my website at: https://www.roeh-art.com Facebook: RoehArt and Instagram: roeh_art. (Roeh Art is the brush name I used on my work for many years to protect my privacy because of my day job. I still mark all my work 'Roeh', although you may have to hunt for it.)
