Eleanor Alison
I only started painting in 2006 after attending an adult education course. When I took early retirement from my profession as an optometrist in 2008, I had more time to devote to painting. I have attended various classes and workshops with different tutors, who have all helped me develop my own style.
I particularly like landscapes, especially if it is fairly wild, rugged or watery. My preferred medium is oil, often using a palette knife to give more texture, although I am now experimenting with acrylic inks and scraper board for very different effects.
I have exhibited with the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle, The Royal Norfolk Show, IEA, Open Studios, Group 9+, The Branch and Aylsham Show. I have sold paintings in Britain and Europe.
