Barry Ellis
I have been painting since 1985, my painting techniques have evolved to give my own interpretation of my chosen subjects.
My main source of inspiration are animals and wildlife, bringing life to the images using watercolour, ink and pastel, sometimes with fine detail, and sometimes with exuberant washes with added details, to bring character and expression.
I have no formal art training, my skills and techniques have been acquired from various sources but mainly self taught.
I was initially inspired to paint animals and wildlife , admiring works from many artists including Archibald Thorburn.
Over the years my paintings have sold privately, through commissions and many exhibitions, I have paintings in America and Australia. I currently exhibit at The Royal Norfolk Show, and now with the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle and also looking to exhibit with The Society of East Anglian Watercolourists.
