Doreen Wells
lthough painting is never far from my mind, much of my work over the past 18 years has been involved in developing a technique for digital printmaking. Taking full advantage of the opportunities that our digital age offered me to experiment with mixed-media printmaking; I developed a unique method of combining traditional art forms with digital media to produce a transformational and original image. This image is then printed professionally to the highest standards with archival inks, mostly as an original monoprint, but occasionally in a limited edition.
I studied Fine Art in the School of Art, Newcastle-under-Lyme College/ Staffordshire University from 1993 –1995. My concern for the protection of the natural world, the decline of biodiversity and the impact of climate change on many species has led me to produce work which attempts to be thought provoking and to encourage action.
My work can be viewed at the Greenhouse Environmental Art Gallery in Norwich and in exhibitions with the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle.
