Report - Jackie’s talk to our members began with the story of how she reached the point she is now at with
her art. As president of the Royal Society of Graphic Artists she is particularly keen to promote
skilled drawing techniques. She was most informative about the materials she uses and
demonstrated some of her techniques using a sword line brush. We were also able to see some of
her stunning finished work and browse through her sketch book. It is hoped that Jackie will return
next year to run a workshop for our members.
Jackie will be demonstrating the use of traditional Indian Ink with classic dip pens and sticks, alongside fine liners and very loose transparent watercolour, manipulating both media into a dynamic composition. She will describe how she has developed her own approach through experimentation and working from her own sketches. By working wet into wet, and wet on dry, there should be some surprising and exciting ‘happenings’ along the way. Jackie’s work is constantly evolving, and she quite unashamedly does alarming things to paper along the way!
Jackie is happy to answer questions during and after the demonstration.
