'I paint built landscapes;  the alleyways and passages of the town and city, the gaps between buildings old and new, the monuments and the quirky towers. The ordinary becomes a stage set as the scene is distorted for dramatic effect. The sky is the backdrop that can stretch right down into the bottom of a painting.  I play with colour, capturing the bustle as cars roll by, cyclists weave through the traffic and people wander past.
