RICHARD MOTLEY

Painting and drawing have always been part of Richard's life: members of his family had painted as amateurs for two generations. It was therefore unsurprising, when as a teacher, painting and drawing became a major element in his work. This became more formalised in the 1970's when Richard became a member of the Wisbech Art Club in Cambridgeshire where he exhibited for a number of years before moving as a head teacher to Norfolk.

More recently, following early retirement, Richard transferred from watercolour and drawing to painting in oil. He is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle.

Richard has exhibited regularly with the Circle and in 2008 held his first one man exhibition at the in Chrome Gallery in Norwich where he regularly has paintings on display. His paintings are held in private collections in the UK, USA and Denmark.
