Mita Higton

Mita was born in India to an English mother and Indian Father. Although she has called England her home for over 4o years, she has also lived in the Middle East, West Africa and the USA. She has a grown up son and daughter and 2 grand-daughters, all who live in West Africa.

It was while she was an expat wife in Dubai that she picked up a paint brush for the first time and discovered the joy of painting in watercolours. Her love of the medium has stayed constant and the East Anglian big skies and light that dominate its sea and landscapes have proved wonderfully inspirational for her. She loves to paint impressionistic, loose and vibrant paintings and is equally happy painting an animal portrait or the beautiful coastline near her home in North Suffolk.

Mita belongs to Suffolk Open Studios and is represented by Sun Lane Gallery in Newmarket. She is also showing her work at various local exhibitions in Norfolk and Suffolk.
