JOHN REEVE
John was born in London and educated at Sloane School, Chelsea, where, in his final year, he won the Senior School Art Prize and gained a Distinction in Art in the school leaving certificate.
Although he always took a sketchbook along on holiday, his busy working life as a National Newspaper Executive based at first in London, then the West Country and finally East Anglia, allowed little time for sketching or painting. It was not until he took early retirement in 1995 at the age of 62 that he was able to devote more time to his favourite hobby.
Watercolour is his favoured medium and as a member of the NNAC since 1997 and a one-time committee member, his paintings have been regularly exhibited in the Cathedral & Assembly House: some are in private collections in the UK, USA, Canada & Australia.
Although John has sold many paintings, he emphasises that he doesn't try to be a commercial artist but as an amateur, enjoys it primarily as a relaxation and hobby.
