JOAN SANDFORD-COOK
Joan trained in Dorset with the Byron School of Art and attended courses at the Bournemouth and Poole College, learning her drawing, watercolour and acrylic skills. A love of flower painting developed as well as an interest in design, abstract techniques and use of mixed media. Continued experimentation in acrylics has brought her to a unique style of rich layered textures creating contemporary floral, impressionist garden scenes and spiritual subjects.
Joan is currently working on a series of local riverside paintings for a permanent exhibition at The Rising Sun riverside public house and restaurant. She has won awards for her entries in the Kings Lynn Art Festival and at the Artist and Leisure Painter Patchings Exhibition. Her work has been accepted by the Eastern Open. Since moving to East Anglia, she has exhibited in galleries and venues throughout the region.
