DENISE WINGROVE
'I trained in Textiles and Fashion Design at Great Yarmouth College of Art & Design, followed that by life drawing at Wensum Lodge, Norwich and currently participate in the monthly life workshops run by the Art Circle. I particularly enjoy portraiture and painting outdoors in rural locations.
I draw inspiration for my paintings from the way colours interact with each other, and the effects light and shade can play. Whenever possible I like to work directly from life, making quick watercolour notes, but I also use my own photographs and collected resource material for reference and inspiration. I use a variety of media – watercolours, oil and pastel depending on the effect I am trying to achieve'.
